Ava performs in the Studio

Derbyshire actor Ava Hunt performs her one-woman show Acting Alone in the Studio at Derby Theatre on Thursday, July 2.

Directed by Tilly Branson, Acting Alone is inspired by the brave and engaging people Ava met in Palestinian refugee camps.

It explores and weaves together tales of the frequently hilarious, occasionally downright bizarre, and experiences of touring as an actor and performing alone, all through Ava’s unique performance style.

Funny, heartbreaking and confronting, Acting Alone asks questions of us all.

Do we stand up for what we believe in? What are we willing to risk?

And can one person make a difference?

Ava said: “I originally performed Acting Alone to raise money for Amnesty International when the humanitarian crisis was at its height last summer.

“This was maybe the time to doing something. The audience’s feedback to this first outing of the play was so positive I was overwhelmed, and I am delighted to have the chance to develop the piece further and to tour it to a wider audience.”

She will also perform it at Nottingham Playhouse on Friday before heading for the Buxton Fringe Festival.
