All White for summer Snow
TELLY trouble-maker Katy Allen – better known as Ethel Hallow in ITV’s children’s television series The Worst Witch - is the famous face in an unlikely production heading for South Yorkshire’s great outdoors next week.

Wentworth Castle Gardens, Barnsley, hosts an open-air production of Snow White on Friday, the latest summer offering from al fresco theatre specialists Chapterhouse Theatre Company.
It may seem like a curious choice for the middle of summer, but in the hands of writer Laura Turner, Snow White takes on a new life.
Katy plays Louisa, a young 1940s evacuee who, along with her close friends, creates a fresh performance of a much-loved story designed to appeal to children and adults alike as it tours some of the UK’s most picturesque country houses, castles and gardens.
Katy studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Art in Los Angeles before joinining the cast of the ITV kids favourite and then Chapterhouse.

“Being involved in The Worst Witch was an amazing experience, especially as I got to play a character with such a mean side to her, which was loads of fun,” she adds.
