The show, which is famous for being the longest-running of its kind, premiered at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal on 6th October 1952 ahead of its record-breaking run in the West End.

Producer Stephen Waley-Cohen said: “It is both exciting and, in my mind, essential, that the first UK tour of The Mousetrap should return to the same theatre in Nottingham.

“It was, famously, after the first night in Nottingham that Agatha Christie told Richard Attenborough, the leading actor in the original production, that she thought they should have a ‘nice little run’ - and it’s still going strong.”

The Mousetrap is on from 13th to 18th May. Tickets are available from www.trch.co.uk or by calling 0115 989 5555.
