The Aqua Sana has so much to offer and I decided to treat my mum to a belated Mother’s Day present with a spa day at the resort in Sherwood Forest.

With the Spa Day for Two package (£65 per person Monday to Thursday and £79 per person Friday to Sunday) we were given access to the spa from 9am to 6pm giving us a full day to enjoy the facilities.

We were given a warm welcome at Reception letting us know what we were to expect from the day and to start we were given a drink and a pastry in the Vitalé Café Bar. I enjoyed a chocolate croissant while my mum had an almond croissant and we both had a tea.

We started our spa experience with a swim in the outdoor heated spa pool and we loved the fact that we were able to swim outside even though the weather was cold.

But you are hit by the cold as you get out of the pool so we jumped straight under the Multi-Sensory Showers. The Tropic setting was my favourite.

After our swim we headed for all the spa experience rooms.

There are plenty to choose from and we worked our way around them all.

First up we plunged our feet into the Reflexology Footbaths. Then it was on to all the different rooms.

There is the Laconium, the Turkish Hammam, the Japanese Salt Steam Bath and the Indian Blossom Steam Room, Greek Herbal Bath and the Tyrolean Sauna. We really enjoyed the Japanese Salt Steam Bath.

We then started it all again and we had time to experience all the rooms twice.

Within the Spa Day for Two Package you are treated to lunch in the Vitalé Café Bar. I enjoyed a brie, cranberry and bacon panini and my mum had a delicious spinach and ricotta canneloni.

Following our lunch we headed upstairs at the Aqua Sana which is all about relaxation.

There are water beds, however these are very popular and you have to be in the right place at the right time to get a chance to try these out as they were always full, and a relaxation room.

We both loved the Tepidarium, This is known as the warm room. The beds are heated and it didn’t take long before we were both asleep.

It was then time for our treatments. The Aqua Sana has recently launched a selection of brand new treatments and to finish off our relaxing day we both had a Body Nectar Nourishing Wrap (£65 for 55 minutes). This treatment was amazing. I suffer from really dry skin and this was perfect for me. My skin felt unbelievably soft afterwards and the products they used were fantastic.

More of the new treatments include a Superfood Facial, a Thousand Flower Detox Wrap, Dual Energy - Poultice Powered Muscle Release Massage and The Garden of England Restore Massage.

There was plenty of time to go round all the spa rooms and time to lie back and relax. We both felt so spoilt after our great day and I can’t wait to go back.
