Sutton in Ashfield Rambling Club begin the New Year with an extremely varied and scenic walk on Sunday, January 4 in Hopton.

We shall be exploring the area to the south east of Wirksworth, including Carsington Reservoir and Kirk Ireton. The near circular route is 9.5 miles. We shall be using a number of unusual and little used paths along the way. There will be a shorter route option.

New members are most welcome and there is no coach fare charge on your first ramble,

We begin the ramble just north of Wirksworth on the B5036. We climb gently to Middlepeak on the High Peak Trail. Our first break of the day will be at Middleton Top where toilets and refreshments should be available.
