Sutton-in-Ashfield Rambling Club to host annual festive walk
The Sutton Rambling Club return to their traditional Christmas ramble format with a 7 mile linear ramble around the Cromford ares in the southern edge of the White Peak district.
This leisurely ramble starts at Amfergate village and heads north through the old wireworks and onwards to Alderwasley Park, then through pleasant scenery to the wooded area of Longway Bank and on along a section of the High Peak Trail.

Soon we leave the Trail and walk to the Boat Inn in the centre of Cromford .
This will be an extended break with a buffet, singsong accompanied by our very own accomplished accordion player and raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Edale Mountain Rescue Team

In the afternoon we enjoy a steady three-mile walk by the Cromford Canal re-joining our coach at Whatstandwell for a 4.00pm departure home.
In the morning, the coach departs from the "Staff of Life" pub in Sutton-in-Ashfield at 9.17am and from the Bancroft Lane end of Stockwell Gate outside Asda in Mansfield at 9.30am There are other pick-up points en route.
