Strutt family in spotlight

The Arkwright Society Lecture Series continues on Thursday, March 12, with Strutt and his Descendants, in the Riber Room, at Cromford Mills, from 7pm.

The Strutt family was hugely influential in the Derwent Valley and across the world. Jedediah Strutt helped finance Arkwright at Cromford, thanks to the success of his own innovation, the Derby Rib, and his descendants proved equally as innovative and free thinking.

Adrian Farmer, heritage co-ordinator for the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, uses recently discovered photographs to illustrate his talk. The cost is £7.50. There are limited places, so book on 01629 825995.
