Special remembrance service for Mother's Day at Mansfield Crematorium

People are being invited to a special celebration being held to remember mothers and mother figures who have passed away.
On Sunday, March 15th, Mansfield Crematorium in Derby Road, is hosting its annual Mother’s Day service, offering space for reflection, remembrance and connection.
This year’s service will be led by Steven Blakeley, who is a Funeral Director, Celebrant, and Senior Manager at A Wass Funeral Directors Ltd.
The service is not being streamed on this occasion.
Mr Blakeley said: “This is a perfect opportunity to collectively pause and give thanks for some of the most important people in our lives - mothers.
"Biological mothers, adoptive mothers, mother figures, grandmothers.
“Mothers and mother figures shape our lives and our hearts. We never truly get over losing them, but on Mother’s Day we acknowledge that our mothers will always be with us in some way and their continued presence will be strongly felt during the service."
And Haylee Stewart, Administration Supervisor at Mansfield & District Crematorium and Cemeteries, said: “We know this can be a tough time for many families, and so our service is a place where people can come and remember loved ones in a supportive environment.
“Everybody is welcome to attend, whether they wish to remember a mother, grandmother, or a loved one who held a mothering role in their life.”
There will be light refreshments after the service.
Photos of loved ones will be shown during the service, and if people would like a photo to be shown, they should email a picture to [email protected].
Photos need to have been submitted by Tuesday, 10th March at 5pm.
