Rick Wakeman brings journey to the Centre of the Earth to Capital FM Arena

Forty years after the release of Rick Wakeman’s landmark concept album, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, a new performance of the work is set to be staged at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena.

The musician himself will perform with The Jules Verne Symphony Orchestra and choir, plus the English Rock Ensemble, in a state-of-the-art, dramatic, live arena presentation of this classical-rock crossover album.

This new live show will include state-of-the-art graphics and jaw-dropping visuals projected on huge screens and backdrops.

It will present the narrative - which is based on the novel by Jules Verne - and music during a two-hour performance with an interval.

Wakeman has combined the original and new material with ‘Return To The Centre Of The Earth’, the epic sequel he recorded in 1999, thus creating an even more compelling story and spectacular show.

‘Journey To The Centre Of The Earth’ will visit Capital FM Arena Nottingham on 2nd May 2014 - one of over 100 dates planned around the world.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on today (Friday 26th July) priced at £44.80 and £50.40 (the price listed includes administration fee).
