‘Red hot ladies’ back in town

One of the country’s most popular cabaret troupes is back in the UK and heading to Mansfield next month with their brand new show.

The Ladyboys of Bangkok will be performing their new show, entitled Red Hot Kisses, at Mansfield Palace Theatre on Monday, 2nd June.

Described as ‘an inferno of fun’, promoters have said of the new show, which is currently touring around the UK, as ‘an eclectic mix of musical genres including movie hits, superstar pop favourites and a dash of country and western added to keep the party glowing’.

There are more songs and production numbers than you could shake your hips to, from Moulin Rouge to Flash Dance and Hairspray.

Then at the blink of a mascara’d eye, the pace changes as the cast glide through their unique Lady Boys of Bangkok tributes to Kylie, Katy Perry, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, J-Lo and even Robbie Williams.

A spokesman for the group told Chad: “This is guaranteed to be a show like no other show, with girls like no other girls and performed by sixteen of the world’s most beautiful showgirls – who just happen to be men.

“The new show drips with diamanté and sizzles with new songs in their usual truly glamorous style, with even more flamboyant costumes, immaculate make up and show stopping choreography.”

Lady Boys have long been accepted in Thailand as neither men nor women, but occupying a space somewhere between the two genders – which is quite consistent with Buddhist teachings.
