Rambling club head to South Derbyshire

Sutton Rambling Club continue their fortnightly summer rambles programme with a steady 12 mile circular walk in South Derbyshire on Sunday.

The ramble starts at the village of Hulland Ward and promises to offer a variety of beautiful countryside scenery.

The morning section of the walk heads south-west down to Bradley Oldpark and then veers north past Bradley Milldam and into the hamlet of Moorend/ Hole in the Wall.

The final section proceeds through Nether Sturston and into the town of Ashbourne.

During this long morning walk there will be the opportunity to relax and have two picnic breaks en route.

he main late lunch break will be in Ashbourne with plenty of cafe/pub choices for refreshment and also time to explore the town

The group then turn eastwards along the attractive valley of Henmore Brook.

The final part of the day meanders east along quiet country lanes to the hamlet of Upper Biggin.

From this hamlet the group moves south back to their starting point for a 6.30 pm departure home.

The coach picks up at The Staff of Life pub in Sutton at 9.15am and at the Bancroft Lane end of Stockwell Gate(outside the Asda supermarket) in Mansfield at 9.30am.

The coach fare is £9,accompanied juniors are free. There is no need to pre book your place on our coach.
