Punk festival at Sutton

Sutton’s New Cross pub’s big punk rock mini-festival Mansfield Rebellion on Saturday 30th November has a late change of headline act.

With 999 pulling out, the festival bill-toppers will now be the legendary Splodgenessabounds.

Their debut single Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps Please peaked at No.7 in the UK singles chart in June 1980 while follow-up single, a cover version of Rolf Harris’ Two Little Boys saw the band perform on Top of the Pops.

Known for their pranks and general silliness, the band appeared on Harry Hill’s TV Burp in 2006 after being featured on Rock School with Gene Simmons.

The New Cross wants to become a music venue and all monies raised by this festival will go towards an in-house PA system and gig equipment.

Ten bands will play including March to the Grave, First Wave and Hung Like Hanratty.

The line up is completed by Fight Back, Scared, Filth and Fury, The Imposters, and Sour Blisters.

Admission will be £9.99.
