Phoenix Concert Band’s world of music

Music from around the world will be played at Phoenix Concert Band’s summer concert.

The varied programme, entitled Musical Landscapes, will be rolled out at Hasland Village Hall on July 5.

Members of the band, which is based in the village, will welcome a special guest for the performance. Andrew ”Lofty” Lofthouse of the Royal Air Force Squadronaires, and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, will perform the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto.

“The whole band is excited and looking forward to the challenge of taking our audience on a musical whirlwind tour of the globe,” said musical director George Morton.

“The programme is designed to be both entertaining and interesting, and will also include themes from award winning films.”
