Minster hosts commemoration of WWI in words and music

Lord, Thou Hast Been Our Refuge is the name of a commemoration of World War One in words and music, to be held at Southwell Minster on Saturday, October 11, from 5.45pm.

It forms part of the RSCM Diocesan Choirs Festival 2014.

It features a number of readings, plus music by the likes of John Ireland (Greater Love Hath No Man), Ralph Vaughan Williams (Lord, Thou Hast Been Our Refuge), and Sir Edward Elgar (Lux Aeterna).

The festival attracts 200 singers from choirs and individuals affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and is an annual event.
