The Society's next talk is "An Illustrated Tour of DH Lawrence's Eastwood", by Dr David Amos, starting at 7.30pm on Thursday 4th December.

David will lead us in a Lawrence heritage themed tour around Eastwood and district, looking at the historical and literary connections to their links in various different locations. He will also update us with a brief look at two digital tours that have been constructed since 2022.

David Amos is one of Eastwood's foremost local historians. His career included many years in the coal mining industry, following which he has dedicated his life to recording and preserving its legacy on the area. DH Lawrence's own life and literary output was heavily influenced by the heyday of this industry.

The venue is Kimberley School Community Room, Newdigate Street, accessed from the driveway to Kimberley Sports Centre. There is plenty of parking almost opposite. Visitors are welcome, for a cost of £4 (cash) towards expenses.
