Festival returns to rock Carnfield Hall

The festival has seen many top name acts, custom bikes and venues in its history and has evolved into a much loved and eagerly-anticipated family-friendly event.

This year the attractions include bands like Girlschool, Bad Manners, Snakecharmer and The Psychedelic Warlords among over 30 acts on the 
bill.

Girlschool, the longest running all-female act of 35 years, are back on the bill this year for the first time since the inaugural R&B Festival back in 2004.

Saturday headliners will be ska stars Bad Manners along with the Circus of Horrors while other big attractions include Snakecharmer, who feature ex-members of Whitesnake,Wishbone Ash, Thunder, Magnum and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as The Psychedelic Warlords, starring Hawkwind’s Alan ‘Boomer’ Davey.

Over the three days there are many quality tribute acts and original bands to be enjoyed.

There are also belly dancers and exotic dancers to enjoy as well as Wild West shows.

If you want to be a rock star, the Rockaoke Marquee is a new addition to the fun.

This year sees a vast array of food concessions from around the world, real ales, three bars, varied stalls for a touch of shopping plus laser tag, have a go archery and circus skills to name but a few of the other activities.

Saturday will see the festival’s traditional Custom Bike and Trike Show with trophies to be won in many categories along with the annual tattoo and fancy dress competitions, also with trophies up for grabs.

The campsite features an all-night shop, a Christian Motorcyclist all-night cafe, a sit down breakfast marquee, phone charging facilities, a bikers’ camping area and a disabled camping area.

The Rock and Bike Festival supports and donates to several fundraising groups and charities through this event.

The National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) have a stall as do the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG).

Soldiers Off The Street and cancer research charities were the main beneficiaries of the 2013 show.

Motorists and local residents are warned to take extra care as there will be an influx of bikes/trikes and traffic on the approaching roads before, during and after the event.

Organisers try to make this the best value for money, family friendly event the biking calendar has to offer and tickets are priced just £40 in advance for the weekend.

Day tickets are available for Friday and Saturday.
