Chad Interview: Vincent Simone talks about his new dance show

Strictly Come Dancing stars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace are showing the world that there is more to them than the Argentine tango with their sensational new show.

Dance ‘Til Dawn comes to the Theatre Royal Nottingham next month and will wow audiences with its Hollywood glamour, stunning sets and brilliant live band and singers.

Vincent told Chad that it is a change of direction from their last show, the Olivier Award nominated Midnight Tango, which focused on their signature dance.

“This year we wanted to push ourselves with something brand new with different dance styles,” he said.

“There’s not just going to be Argentine tango - there will be a waltz, American smooth, Charleston, paso doblé, a rumba and we finish with an amazing tango.”

Dance ‘Til Dawn is set in 1940s LA, where a romance unfolds between a beautiful starlet and her handsome lover.

Vincent describes the storyline as a ‘comedy thriller’, which the audience is guided through by narrators and which has an incredible cast.

“We have so much talent on stage,” said Vincent.

“We have had lots of five star reviews and they have all said every single person on stage is amazing.”

Vincent and Flavia are accompanied on stage by a troupe of musical theatre dancers as well as live singers and musicians.

The music used in the show is extremely varied in its age and style, ranging from the classic Moon River to a recent pop hit by Bruno Mars.

There is something for everyone and this is one of the reasons why Vincent thinks it is proving so popular with the audiences who have already seen it during its UK tour.

It certainly seems to be living up to the success of Midnight Tango.

“That was the challenge, and I think we have succeeded because we are having standing ovations every single night,” he said.

“It’s amazing. Sometimes it’s quite emotional to see thousands of people standing up who have had so much fun seeing this show.

“It makes me really happy and really proud.”

Dance ‘Til Dawn has already secured itself a West End slot at the Aldwych Theatre thanks to its fantastic reception and Vincent added that it will be good to go back to Nottingham with this new show.

Dance ‘Til Dawn runs from Monday 2nd until Saturday 7th June. Tickets are priced £37 to £16, plus concessions, and are available on www.trch.co.uk or by calling the box office on 0115 989 5555.
