Building work contines at National Ice Centre’s public skating facility

Building works continue at the National Ice Centre’s Public Skating (Olympic) Rink as a new entranceway to the rink and a balcony are built in order to deliver a dedicated skating entrance.

As well as the building works, the Public Skating (Olympic) Rink will be closed from Wednesday 25th June as work including ice removal, ice installation and painting is carried out.

During this time, all skating will be moved into the Arena rink where it will stay until 16th July. As well as moving skating to the Arena rink for this short time, skate hire, Ice Breakers and some lockers will be temporarily moved to an area nearer the Arena rink. Look out for stickers on the floor to direct you to the temporary skate hire and Ice Breakers area as well as the Arena rink.

When attending Parent and Toddler sessions and Disability Inclusion sessions between 25th June and 17th July, please be advised these sessions will take place at the stage end of the Arena Rink. Birthday parties will take place in a backstage room which is used by artists and bands when they play here! All of these areas will be signposted and rink assistants will be on hand should you have any questions or need directions.

The Public Skating Rink will be back in use from 17th July.

On Wednesday 2nd July there will be no skating at all in the building as the venue gets set to host Dolly Parton in the main Arena.
