The Bachelors come to town

Sixties singing sensations The Bachelors are set to play the Doghouse in Nottingham on Friday July 18th as part of a tour that celebrates their 50 years in show business.

Con and Dec Cluskey racked up a string of hits including Charmaine, Diane, I Believe, Ramona, I Wouldn’t Trade You for the World, and Marie, which was written by Irving Berlin. Along with John Stokes, they shared stages with everyone from Bruce Forsythe to Johnny Cash.

As well as best-selling alblums, the group appeared on two Royal Variety television shows, a 1964 film called Just for You, with Billy Fury, and in 1971 they starred in a BBC sitcom called Under and Over, playing three Irish navvies working on the London Underground.

Doors open at 7pm at the Carlton Hill venue. Tickets are £12.50 in advance and £15 on the door.
