Heart-warming musical Oliver! will be presented by Mansfield Operatic Society at the town’s Palace Theatre.

The story about a workhouse orphan who is trained by Fagin to become a pickpocket runs from March 4 to 8.

Society chairman Brandon Stafford said: “Oliver! has got to be one of the best known and best loved musicals. The story and songs appealto young and old.”

Sol Stubbs and Daniel Tucker play Oliver, Chris Lindsey-Hill and Nathan Stubbs play Dodger. Robert Phillips plays Fagin, Jane Wright plays Nancy and Wayne Shutt is Bill Sykes.

Oliver! is directed by Pam Frith and musical director is Paul O’Leary. Performances are at 7.15pm with weekend matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets £11, £10 (concessions).
