Essence of Ireland

A HIGH energy stage show, which features a dazzling display of Irish dance and music, is set to make a return to Mansfield’s Palace Theatre - and you could be there to watch it thanks to our easy-to-enter competition.

The popular Essence of Ireland, which is back in the town on 21st April as part of a national tour, tells the story of Sean Dempsey and Coro McGowen who meet in Ireland in the 1940s.

But the two lovers are separated when Sean goes to New York - and this show tells the story of their love through the letters they write to each other while they are apart.

Anyone who has seen Essence of Ireland before will know it is a mix of live music, dance, spectacular costumes and both modern and traditional songs, which this year include Galway Girl, Carrickfergus, You Raise Me Up and Song for Ireland.

Essence of Ireland comes to Mansfield’s Palace Theatre on 21st April at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. For details contact the Box Office on Mansfield 633133 or visit www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre.

We have teamed up with the Palace Theatre to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a family ticket (either two adults and two children or one adult and three children) for the 2.30pm performance of Essence of Ireland.

All you have to do to enter the competition is get your copy of this week’s Chad (11th April).
