Drama fans will delight in the choice on offer at the Theatre Royal this season, with Arthur Miller’s classic masterpiece A View from the Bridge starring Michael Brandon, a heart-rending new stage adaptation of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and the West End hit The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Peter James’s best-selling novel Dead Simple also comes to the stage, starring Tina Hobley, Jamie Lomas, Rik Makarem, Michael McKell and Gray O’Brien.

On a lighter note, Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense make a laugh-out-loud trip to Nottingham following a very successful West End run, starring Robert Webb, while The Importance of Being Earnest promises to be one of the highlights of the season, starring David Suchet as the formidable Lady Bracknell in an imaginative casting coup.

For music fans, big names this season at the Royal Concert Hall include Lulu, Nick Cave, Michael Ball, Blue, Texas, Simple Minds, UB40 and John Barrowman.

Other musical highlights of the spring season include Richard & Adam, the Solid Silver 60s Show featuring Billy J Kramer, The Searchers, Mike Pender and more, The Hollies, Bellowhead, the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra and Halfway to Paradise – The Billy Fury Story.

Stand-up comedy will come in the form of Dara O’Briain, Stewart Lee, Dylan Moran and Jimmy Carr, all visiting the Royal Concert Hall this spring. More laughs can be had with Sex in Suburbia, a new comedy starring Claire Sweeney, and the official stage tour of BBC Radio’s I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, hosted by Jack Dee.

The phenomenally successful stage musical Dirty Dancing returns to the Theatre Royal in the spring, alongside the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Oklahoma! starring Belinda Lang and Gary Wilmot.

The Royal Concert Hall’s Nottingham Classics Season continues with performances from BBC Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, plus the venue’s own Sunday Morning Piano Series and Beanbag Music Club events for little ones.

Opera North returns to the Theatre Royal in the spring with three sensational productions: La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro and a double bill featuring La Vida Breve and Gianni Schicchi.

For dance fans, Lord of the Dance returns to the Royal Concert Hall for one week only and the acclaimed Birmingham Royal Ballet returns to the Theatre Royal.

Additional highlights at the Royal Concert Hall this spring include Anton & Erin, Sing-a-long-a-Sound of Music and Sing-a-long-a-Frozen, BAFTA award-winning TV favourites Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom for children, wartime songs and comedy with We’ll Meet Again, singer-comedians Voca People and celebrity psychic Sally Morgan.
