Mansfield District Council is putting on a musical event in Mansfield town centre to attract shoppers and visitors over the Easter weekend.

Mansfield-based blues band TTL Overdrive will be performing in the Market Place on Saturday at 12.30pm. The band has recently made it through to the Live and Unsigned Showcase Finals (BBC) on Saturday 14th April.

TTL Overdrive play a mixture of original material and revised alternative cover songs and have been performing live gigs at many venues in and around the Mansfield area.

The event is part of a series of promotions planned in Mansfield town centre throughout the year. A fairground will also be in the Market Place over the Easter weekend, with plenty of rides and activities including dodgems, trampolines and tea cup rides.

Nick Turner, town centre manager at Mansfield District Council, said: “I am very excited that TTL Overdrive will be playing in the Market Place and hope that their performance will encourage more people to come into the town centre and enjoy the Bank Holiday.

“I am pleased to be welcoming the band to the town centre ahead of their TV appearance and I would like to encourage everyone to come down and give them.”
