A former organ scholar at Southwell Minster, David Soar, will sing the title role at St Mary’s Church, Nottingham when Nottingham Bach Choir and Orchestra perform Mendelssohn’s much loved oratorio ‘Elijah’ on 19th November at 7.30pm.
David’s musical career started as a young 13-year-old bass in the choir of St Mary Magdalene, Creswell. He attended Worksop College as a music scholar and continued his organ studies at Southwell Minster.
In recent times, he has made his debut at the Royal Opera House and in ‘Don Giovanni‘ at Glyndebourne and performed to critical acclaim at the 2010 BBC Proms as the Nightwatchman in ‘Die Meistersinger’.
Soloists will include Toby Hyde-Barker, a senior Chorister at Southwell Minster. Paul Hale, Rector Chori of Southwell Minster, will conduct the choir
