FOLK musician Jim Moray will be visiting Southwell Library next month as part of his Special Small Venues Solo Tour. The gig takes place on 10th March at 8pm and there is a real ale, wine and spirits bar serving drinks before the show and during the interval.
Jim Moray has released four award-winning albums and is known for his reworking of English traditional music in which he blends orchestral flourishes, guitars and electronics. He also won Best Newcomer and Best Album at the 2004 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Jim and his band represented the UK at the UNESCO conference in Hanoi, Vietnam before playing a sold out show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Ho Chi Min City. Jim has recently been involved with the prestigious Cecil Sharp Project and been awarded Honorary Life Membership of Birmingham Conservatoire for outstanding achievements in music.
