He is undeniably one of the most acclaimed and adored solo artists of all time, instantaneously recognisable and cherished by his fans worldwide. Today the brilliant song craftsman has announced he will be performing a total of three UK live dates in June next year.

On Tuesday 24th June 2014 Elton John takes to the stage at Capital FM Arena Nottingham for the first time in eight years.

Other dates will see him perform in Leigh and Colchester.

Elton commented on his new dates: “As I have said when asked about the song Home Again on my new album, The Diving Board, there is something very special to me about coming home. I’ve been all around the world and I truly enjoy playing my music for fans everywhere I can, but I do so look forward to coming back home to England, especially every summer and Nottingham has always been a special place for me, as I first played there all the way back in 1967 as a member of Bluesology, on the same bill as Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Cliff!”

As one of the most lauded and celebrated performers, his spectacular stage shows are sought-after by audiences worldwide. The dates will include number one hits and classic songs from his remarkable 40 year career, including tracks from his recently praised album ‘The Diving Board’ described by The Independent as “An album that may be the best of his career”.

Among the many awards and honours bestowed on Elton John are five Grammys, a Grammy Legend award, Tony Award, Best British Male Artist Brit Award, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honor, Legend of Live Award, 11 Ivor Novello Awards and a knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II for ‘services to music and charitable services’. He recently became the recipient of the first ever BRIT Icon Award.

With an unparalleled career that spans five decades, Elton John is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time with 35 gold and 25 platinum album, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits and an incredible 250-million records worldwide. Through a partnership with lyricist Tim Rice came the music for the feature film and Broadway stage production of ‘The Lion King.’ He wrote the music for the stage production of ‘Billy Elliot: The Musical’ and more recently for the box office smash, ‘Gnomeo & Juliet.’ In 2011, Elton returned to Las Vegas for a three year residency with his brand new show ‘The Million Dollar Piano’, billed as “a gargantuan feast of music and imagery”.
