Get your Union Jacks at the ready for a night of pure patriotism as a wonderful West End cast celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday in truly nostalgic style at Mansfield’s Palace Theatre.

Producer Neil Sands has drawn on many years of experience in the industry to put together a show befitting this magical occasion, a show which will cover nine decades of Her Majesty’s illustrious life, from the roaring twenties, the fabulous forties, the rocking fifties and the swinging sixties, more recent show favourites, a rousing selection from Last Night of the Proms, and a flag-waving finale paying tribute to the veterans of her Armed Forces.

Joining Neil for his production of 90 Glorious Years are Gemma Turner – whose captivating voice has drawn comparisons with that of Katherine Jenkins – and Stars In Their Eyes winner Angie Diggens, two supremely talented singers who are no strangers to the West End stage.

The Golden Times Duo will be providing backing music for the performance with stirring renditions of many of Her Majesty’s favourites. Their versatile repertoire includes numbers made famous by the likes of Tommy Steele, Shirley Bassey, Vera Lynn, Max Bygraves and many more.

Neil said: “These shows give what many of a certain age regard as proper entertainment.

“A chance to come out during the day and have a fun filled afternoon, bringing back many happy memories and still be home for tea time.

“The wonderful voices, stunning costumes and good old fashioned fun on offer will make this the perfect nostalgic way to celebrate this historic occasion.”

This truly is a once in a lifetime occasion with Queen Elizabeth II having celebrated her official 90th birthday on Saturday June 11.

90 Glorious Years will be at the Mansfield Palace Theatre on Wednesday June 22, at 2.30pm.

Tickets are priced £12.30 full / £11.28 concessions and can be purchased from the Box Office on 01623 633133 or online at www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre.
