Pupils from Intake Farm Primary School became the first children to enjoy the new day-long set of activities at Mansfield Museum.
They are pictured dressed in the workwear provided to help create an enhanced sense of involvement for the pupils as they explore Mansfield’s rich manufacturing heritage.
The latest addition to the museum, which celebrated its ninth anniversary this year, is a revamped local history day.
The session’s title – ‘Made In Mansfield’ - links the topic closely to the museum’s recently opened and highly successful Industrial Gallery, featuring a wealth of manufactured products for which the town was once renowned.
A spokesman for the museum said: “This great value local resource for extending children’s understanding and enjoyment of their latest topic has proved to be extremely popular with teachers and pupils from schools.”
across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire for almost a decade.
“Well over a hundred schools have brought almost 35,000 children on over eleven hundred whole-day trips, with many returning year after year.”
