Artists’ work features in exhibition at Chatsworth

Peak District Artisans have started their 25th anniversary programme with a spring showcase at Chatsworth.

The event started on last week and sees 35 members exhibit their works in a display featuring artists, designer-makers and contemporary craftspeople from across the region.

PDA chairman Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp said: “We are incredibly excited about the Spring Showcase, what better way to mark the opening of our 25th anniversary year than by returning to where it all began.”

The group’s association with Chatsworth goes back to 1990 when the Dowager Duchess linked up with other Peak District-based producers making and offering high quality products to collectively promote their wares, in her case the Chatsworth Farm Shop.

“Over the last 25 years the group has evolved in so many ways. We now have 65 very talented members who each contribute to our annual exhibition programme, as well as running their own art businesses, next year is going to be a very busy and exciting year for Peak District Artisans,” added Ingrid.

Chatsworth’s head of catering and retail, Richard Palmer commented: “We are delighted to welcome the Peak District Artisans back to Chatsworth to mark the start of their 25th anniversary year.

“Having Peak District Artisans at Chatsworth during our winter opening has been a great addition in previous years, and I am sure our visitors will be so thrilled to see them return in this very special year.”

The exhibition, which runs daily 10.30am – 3.30pm to March 13. Admission is free.
