Former Sutton opera ace Lucy Kay says success on Britain’s Got Talent has helped put the smile back on her face after years of bullying.

The singer, who used to live in Sutton and Kirkby and was a member of the local Cantamus Girls Choir, wowed judges of the TV talent show at the weekend.

The 24-year-old was given a standing ovation after her audition performance and says she hasn’t stopped smiling since.

BGT viewers heard how her childhood had been made a misery by cruel bullying, which forced the family to move house in a bid to escape her gang of tormentors.
