MANSFIELD District Council hosted a special send-off for the town's four Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.
The event, in conjunction with the Armchair Club, praised the efforts of Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, together with Paralympians Arnie Chan (table tennis), Charlotte Henshaw (swimming) and Sam Hynd (swimming).

The Armchair Club was formed in 1982 and has raised more than £125,000 over the years to help local sport. Two years ago it made a committment to raise £20,000 to support local Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls at the 2008 and 2012 Games.

Olympic silver and bronze medallist Bryan Steel, a member of the British team pursuit squad, was a star guest on Tuesday evening.
