A DOCUMENTARY film starring Mansfield pupils has highlighted the similarities between British and Polish families in the town.
The film, Friendship Matters, was premiered at Mansfield's Odeon cinema last month.

It was produced in partnership between the Mansfield Museum and Palace Theatre, with the help of the Zamek museum in Poznan, Poland, with which the museum has close links.

"The film is all about Polish and British communities being brought together," said Sian Flett, one of the students in the film, "It was really fun. We had lots of nice days out and we all made lots of good friends."

The event, which took place on 18th September, was also a special occasion for the cinema, as Odeon manager Peter Jackson explained: "We were approached by Mansfield Museum and asked if we would host the event and it's such a big thing for Mansfield that we jumped at the chance."

"This is the first time we've done anything like this and so it is a really exciting occasion."

Friendship Matters will now be sent to film festivals around the country, as well as being shown in schools around the area. Copies will also be available from the Mansfield Museum.
