Paul Holland's Stags squad was up to nine players today when young defender Chris Wood accepted a new one-year deal with the club.
Wood (21) has made 10 starts and nine substitute appearances for the Stags since making his debut against Boston Utd in November 2004.
Manager Paul Holland told
mansfieldtown.net: "I am pleased that we have Woody with us again for another year. He can play in a couple of defensive positions."
He added: "He has a fantastic attitude and is a fine example to the youth players. His conduct and professionalism are admirable, especially for such a young lad."
Holland is now only one player short of a five-a-side game when pre-season training begins tomorrow!
There is still no sign yet of a club takeover being completed or the go-ahead for Holland to sign new players.
