PAUL Holland has cleared keeper Jason White of the blame for Shrewsbury's opening goal on Saturday.
The youngster was selected ahead of the more experienced Carl Muggleton, who was fit again after a thumb injury, but conceded within 75 seconds of kick-off at his near post.

However, he went on to produce a solid performance and a crucial save and Holland said: "In the heat of the moment Jason got the blame for that first goal.

"But looking at it again on video I don't think he could be blamed as it took a deflection.

"He responded brilliantly after that and was very positive. His kicking was good too.

"Jason has not done himself any harm whatsover.

"Carl declared himself fit for last Saturday but I decided to go with Jason who I though did well at Macclesfield where he got a clean sheet. He deserved his chance again."

Thought it was deflected. I saw the midge flying through the air that unwittingly collided with the ball and sent it spinning wildly out of Jason's control.

It was a very cunning ploy.We give them an easy lead, to put them in the comfort zone & then come back with 3 cracking goals & then take the points.Well done Dutch & Whitey! However,FOR GODS SAKE DONT DO IT AGAIN ON SAT!!!!!!! My "Dream"; On saturday we win,Daggers win & THE MIGHTY MAGGIES LOSE.We then draw at Daggers & The Spires do everyone a favour & win their last home game. This could be the 3rd time in the last few years that Notts escape on the last day.JUSTICE??????

I saw it and it was defenitely defected in, so it wasn't White's fault. He actually did good.

Ok so it was a very big midge. Who do you want in goal this Satdy, Adam999 and chipdude, Jason White White White or Carl Muggleton? I think it's a difficult one to call. Muggs can't kick as well but is safer. I'm not confident with either of them on crosses. Wish we still had Rod Arnold. I think Dutch should consult dot who has some very sensible ideas (like me). But don't ask Bernie Cat who knows nothing.

I don't care who plays in goal as long as they do good, and we win!

Any by the way, who's Rob Arnold? I never heard of him.

it took a very slight deflection but jason should still have saved it but i dont care because he made up for it and we won. i would feel more comfortable with muggo in goal but jason was great on saturday and looks much more willing to go for crosses which we need

CMON STAGS WE ARE STAYING UP
