DARLINGTON have, as expected, ended winger Neil Wainwright's month-long loan at Field Mill.
He made one start and four substitute appearances for Mansfield Town.

"Yes it is a blow to lose Neil and his experience around the club," said boss Paul Holland.

"He has not started as many games as he would have liked but I thought Saturday was the best he has played for us when he came on.

"But Darlington insisted on a recall clause in case they needed him and they've not been having the best of times and have a few knocks so they have rung up and said they want him back.

"I can't do anything about it. But it does give someone else a chance to be involved and play their part now."

Darlington boss Dave Penney said on Friday: "He's probably only played an hour in five or six games at Mansfield.

"If we'd known that was going to be the situation we wouldn't have let him go in the first place. We wanted him to go there and get games.

"He would have been involved with us with the injuries we've got."
