THREE more players have put pen to paper and pledged their future to Mansfield Town's bid to return to the Football League at the first attempt.
Trialists Jason Lee, Gary Silk and Matthew Somner have all signed contracts - following on from Alan O'Hare and Gavin Hurran - taking the total number of new signings today to five players.

Experienced striker Jason Lee (37) has clocked up more than 500 League appearances, hitting the back of the net over 100 times and winning four promotions.

His former clubs include Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Lincoln City.

He signed for the club after featuring in several pre-season games and said he was delighted to have sorted out his future with the Stags.

He told mansfieldtown.net: "There were options to go and play in various places around the country but I have lived in Nottingham for 15 years now and this is an opportunity to play for a local side.

"I am an ex-Red and an ex-Pie, and it shows I care about the community. I will give Mansfield the same 100 per cent commitment which I have for all the clubs I have played for."

Joining Lee, is 23-year-old right-back Gary Silk who has also been on trial at the club and has made more than 100 League appearances.

Stags' fifth signing of the day is 25-year-old versatile midfielder Matthew Somner.

The former Wales U21 international started his career at left back and later moved to centre half, before ex-Notts County manager Steve Thompson moved the tough-tackling player further up the pitch.

Details regarding the length of contracts have not yet been disclosed.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, so Billy has added to his squad,GOOD. Friendlys against Championship opposition will not give the real picture of what Bill is trying to blend at the Mill. The proof of the pudding comes in a weeks time against Ebbsfleet. I DO NOT expect miracles straightaway, but come Xmas I EXPECT us to be firmly ensconced in the top half of the BSP. No doubt Pez Midd n Saunders will feel the same. Its Bills team now he's picked em and he will live or die by results, hopefully the former. It will be most interesting what sort of performances they give tomorrow now they have thier futures sorted out. We still need Gamble to keep Flappy out of the side and another 5 outfielders too.
