PART 1 of the trilogy is over - Mansfield Town defeated Shrewsbury 3-1 at Field Mill on Saturday thanks to a Micky Boulding hat-trick.
Now comes parts 2 and 3 - at home to Rotherham next Saturday and then a trip to Dagenham on the final day of the season.

After Saturday's results, the Stags are now just one point off safety and avoding relegation from the Football League for the first time.

Manager Paul Holland labelled the victory as part one of a trilogy and hero striker Boulding praised the supporters for their part in the vital victory.

Stags fans created a 'BELIEVE' banner for the recent local derby at Notts County and it was at Field Mill again on Saturday.

The club has created the Great Escape poster, and even draped one on the Andrew Saunders Insurance Stand.

The Great Escape theme tune was played after the three goals on Saturday.

Almost 3,000 home fans also backed the Stags against Shrewsbury, some taking advantage of a discounted ticket offer.

But what do you think? Is the Great Escape still on? Do you Believe the Stags will be playing Division II football next season? Or will it be the Conference after 77 proud years in the Football League? Let us know below . . .

Today really couldn't have been better, as all results went in our favour. There's every likelihood that we'll take it to the last day of the season now. Would be great if we could go to Dagenham needing just a point.

We still believe
we still believe
we still believe

Wasn't that the words to the Three Lions song?

Football's coming home and the Stags are going to get back to back home wins for the first time this season!

I believe we can do it but we shouldn,t get carried away by todays results. We will still go into Saturdays game against Rotherham knowing that if we lose and results elsewhere aren,t favourable we will be out of the league.IF however we can do what we haven,t done all season and win two consecutive league games, then we may well go into the last game at D&G requiring one point for safety.C,MON U STAGS!!!!

There's no choice. If you're a true Stags fan you've got to believe. All sorts of possibilities still - including County having to win at Chesterfield to stay up. Counting no chickens though. A couple of errors or below par performances, or an unfair ref. and all could be undone very quickly. But, yes, I'll keep believing - and trying to persuade Bernie Cat to do the same!

WE HAVE TO BELIEVE! Until it`s mathmatically impossible we have no other choice!!!! Only down side for me was the UTTERLY PATHETIC turn out.Do the public of Mansfield REALLY want a league club?To get only 2900 home fans for such an important game beggars belief, especially when you look at the size of Mansfields population.THOSE 2900 WERE MAGNIFICENT THOUGH!!!!!!We were definitely the 12th man.

There will still be twists & turns.A draw might be enough next week, because Daggers would do well to get anything at Darlo. What price us & Daggers both winning & THE MIGHTY MAGPIES LOSING AGAINST WYCOMBE & SPIRITES.......COME ON YOU STAGS!!!!!!!!!!!Come on you Mansfield public GET DOWN THE MILL & support the boys.

We have to believe that the charge to safety is on. The league looks far better today than 3.00pm yesterday.
The Rotherham game is winnable, and for the first time this season we could get the back to back wins we crave. Then its all down to the last game.
The pies will be sweating as well as Daggers and Chester.
I will certainly go into work tomorrow with a smile on my face.

I completely agree with Delboy. The fans inside the ground were great, but 2,900 home supporters was poor considering it was arguably (beforehand anyway) the biggest game in the club's history. Like I've said in previous posts, people in this town don't care. They're too busy jumping on the bandwagon 'supporting' Premier League clubs (from their armchair in most cases). Come on you glory-hunting idiots, get down to the ground on Saturday and get behind your LOCAL team.
