Burly striker Kyle Perry has today become the latest addition to David Holdsworth's squad.
The former Port Vale striker has signed a two year contract, which will begin on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old, who stands 6ft 4ins and weighs 14st 11lb, began his career at Walsall and then moved on to Telford, where he scored 32 goals in two seasons.

He subsequently netted no fewer than 26 times for Willenhall Town before moving on to play for Chasetown, and was part of their FA Cup success which saw them reach the third round in 2008.

Perry was soon snapped up by Port Vale, where he spent last season, and had a short loan spell at Northwich Victoria - where he scored two goals in seven starts, before being recalled by Vale.

He netted a hat-trick against Stags' reserve team in January this year.
Perry told www.mansfieldtown.net : "There were a few clubs who I had spoken to, but the people here at Mansfield sold it to me.

"There seems to be a fantastic buzz around the place.

"I know I will have to fight for my place in the line up. I am very competitive by nature and I am very eager to get started," he added.

Incidentally, he is no relation to chairman Andrew Perry.

Another signing that`s NOT got me over excited.
I`ve got to say that no one that`s come in has given me that WOW effect.(I know we aint Chelsea etc.)
However,my trust is STILL in Reg,so we`ll just have to wait & see how things pan out.
My initial feeling is that we`ll finish somewhere between 7th & 10th in the League.....Before you all jump on me,it`s just my opinion of what i see....
JUST HOPE TO GOD I`M WRONG & we can AT LEAST make the Play-Offs,but it`s going to be a BIG TASK!!!
Getting very nervous now the season is getting ever closer!

much has i hate to say it , i agree with del on this one /we have alot of lower league unknowns, ,DH has a good record of spotting a bargain so hopefully all these players will come good, jason lee didnt get me excited, only player that did last year was hotchkiss oh yes ,i expect mighty daryl to do the business this season so all is not lost yet del

I swear that i dont want to be coming on here, in a few months, saying i told you so.
I`d be over the moon if people were coming on here & saying that i aint got a clue, but we`ll just have to wait & see.
As i said,i`m very nervous about the season getting nearer.Part of me wants it to start, yet another part of me is just worried in case it doesnt go to plan.(That`s Football for you.Unpredictable!)
Definitely would have been nice to see Hotchkiss back in a Stags shirt, but you never know, there`s still time!

Guys DH took us from the relegation zone to finishing to a respectable 10th in half a season. The players which have left hasn't really rased any eye brows other than Arnold but he was wanting to much in wages. I have been happy with all the signings so far as they all deserve a chance to shine.

I don't think we will be leeking many goals this season. We have in my opinion the best goal keeper in the league and a cracking defense. We have a strong midfield with a big verity. We have proven striker Clare and Duffy come strong towards the end of the season.

Welcome aboard Perry, you have a shinning reference from Vale fans.

Yellows Yellows Yellows!

Faith guys - the special one knows what he is doing so I am not worried one bit. He has signed some real gems for the Stags last season and I haven't heard anything to make me think he isn't doing the same again.
Faith guys.
