He always gets involved with other clubs in need and helped out heavily at Wrexham when they looked like facing extinction last season.
He has toured continually all over the world for the last 28 years with his acid-tongued songs and poetry, designed to make people smile and think. Despite Mansfield knocking his beloved Brighton out of the FA Cup, he has written this for Stags fans:
Oi, shut it, Carlton Palmer!
You're not much of a charmer
You should become a farmer
Or join Bananarama
You words won't make us calmer
And you sure ain't a Brahma
For with that kind of karma
You'll need a suit of armour
You talk like a dead llama
In need of an embalmer -
In Mansfield's current drama
You're as well loved as Osama!
