Wednesday, 3rd March

13.45: Former Stags player and assistant manager Keith Alexander died last night, aged 53. Affectionately known as 'Big Keith' the 6ft 4ins striker was much travelled, only joining Mansfield at the end of his playing days as a youth coach but twice came on as substitute when the team were depleted, scoring twice in 31 minutes against Crewe, becoming the first Stags sub to grab a brace! A St Lucia international, his only playing honour was as an FA Vase winner with Stamford in 1980. Alexander had two spells as manager of Lincoln City and in November 2003 he collapsed with a double aneurysm which saw him being brought back to life three times. He returned to his managerial career, moving on to Peterborough and then Macclesfield where he remained to the end. Alexander had been off ill recently but was back at the helm and collapsed last night after returning home from the game against his first club, Notts County.

18.50: Stags' West Stand is to be renamed the Ian Greaves Stand sponsored by NAPIT. Click here for story.

12.50: Stags have today announced that a new 10-year lease of Field Mill has been secured following a successful period of negotiation with the current landlord Keith Haslam. Blue Square Premier clubs must have a minimum ten year lease on their ground in order to compete for a place in the Football League. "Negotiations throughout were very amicable during our talks to extend the existing lease," said chairman Andrew Perry.

Monday, 22nd February

16.27: Stags have been unable to re-arrange either of their two postponed fixtures place this Wednesday, despite much effort. The club's intention was to play at home this Wednesday (24th February) following the two home cancellations of Rushden & Diamonds and York City. York are set to play away at Barrow in the FA Trophy tomorrow night. Should that match be postponed then it is now likely to be re-scheduled for this Wednesday. Stags were disappointed that Rushden & Diamonds rejected their proposal to play on Wednesday. The match has since been re-arranged for Tuesday, 13th April (7.45pm).

15.50: SSA have coach seats to Hayes & Yeading available to ALL Stags fans wanting to travel to Saturdays game. Departure time from Field Mill is 9.30am and prices are £15 Amber/Junior SSA Members £18 Blue SSA Members and £21 for Non SSA Members. 15.17: Stags'match at home to Rushden and Diamonds will now be played on Tuesday, 13th April (7.45pm). The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

10.50: Stags are still hoping they may get to play York at Field Mill on Wednesday if the Minstermen's trip to Barrow is called off tomorrow. Click here for latest.

12.40: Tonight's Stags game at Wrexham remains in the balance. ALthough then pitch is soft and playable, it is buried under a blanket of frozen snow and the Dragons are pleading with supporters to get down there and help them clear it off. Stags were hoping to know for sure if the game was going ahead by 2pm when they were planning to leave.
