MIDFIELDER Stephen Dawson is being given every chance to make Saturday's match at Shrewsbury.
The Irish midfielder suffered a dead leg during last weekend's win over Notts County and is still today (Friday) rated as only 50-50 to play at the New Meadow stadium.

  • Dawson injury worry

On Friday club physio Paul Madin said that Dawson would be training on Friday and then have a fitness test tomorrow ahead of the match - Mansfield's first trip to the new ground.

He added that he rated the player's chance of appearing in the match as still at 50-50.

Sean McAllister or Danny Sleath will probably replace Dawson in the midfield if he fails the fitness test as the Stags look to stretch their unbeaten run to three matches - and claim their first away win of the season.
