THE lengthy takeover deal of Mansfield Town FC is now on the verge of completion.
The new owners - Andy Perry, Andy Saunders and Steve Middleton - met with previous chairman Keith Haslam this week and are delighted to announce that 'everything is now complete from the Haslam side of things'.

Chairman Perry said: "We are now in the latter stages of completion, we just need out legal people to cast one more eye over it and hopefully it will all be tied up within a month."

But does this mean that the deal is "beyond the point of no return"? I'd be nervous if the whole thing could still fall through at some stage. But I would also find it hard to understand that the new owners would come in, appoint a new manager who has built a squad of players practically all his own, negotiate numerous sponsorship deals, if the club is not yet legally theirs?

From what I believe, there is little for anyone to worry about. We were told that certain BINDING forms were signed by BOTH parties,so it would be very, very unlikely that Haslam could squirm out of that.
Here`s hoping it`s "Done & Dusted" asap!!!!!!!
Once it is signed, sealed & delivered,I sincerely hope that EVERY effort, humanly possible, is made to get us out of this P*SS POOR League.

Incidentally,I mean UP out of this "Hell Hole"

I`ve watched the Stevenage game on DVD & am wondering if anyone else noticed how one of their players stood in front of Paddy, when they got a corner,& Glared at him in a VERY INTIMIDATING MANNER.Surely, that`s ungentlemanly conduct,so why didnt the Ref take any action?????I also noticed a 2 footed challenge, which only resulted in a yellow card for their man,yet the Chanot 2nd booking was a "Nothing" challenge.
I`m really begining to think that there`s a hidden agenda against the Stags,or is that being paranoid????

We can be certain that 'certain clauses' will have been inserted into the deal by you know who. Why do you think that the three musketeers HAD to accept the only deal on the table. He is still taking a substantial amount of cash out of the club, and rumour has it that if we default on payments he will resume control with immediate effect. For that reason the prices will not come down. It would not make the slightest difference if they did.

Will we the fans be privy to the content of the deal I think not. I think it would worry us all greatly if we knew. I fear that somewhere in the future that great dark cloud will move from Calver and settle back over the Mill, lets pray the wind stays in our favour.

Interesting comments at 4 from Delboy. The ref was actually from Lincolnshire same place as Drysdale last season so no suprise we didnt get any favours there then. As for Paddy if you watch the DVD again you will see that he was responsible for their second goal aswell, by being caught in no-mans land, instead of backpedalling he turned just before his line by which time the ball was on its way and he had little time to get down. Compare that with the save he made from Sodj early in the game at York similar thing great save but facing the play.

spiritater, was this rumour about haslam taking immediate control if there is a default on payments just in your imagination. thats how rumours start just from a throwaway comment like that from yourself. i have not heard from anyone or any source elsewhere so please stick to facts.

RobD,yes mate, I did see how the 2nd goal came about, but I didnt want everyone on hear complaining that I was picking on Paddey unfairly.I`ve said before that Paddey`s mistakes are costing us valuable points, though he does makes some superb stops.
White`s howlers are no worse, but because he made them when we were DESPERATE for points, they seem 100 times worse.Having said that,I STILL feel more comfortable with Paddey between the sticks.
