FIRST news of retained players at Field Mill should be made public on Monday.
Neil MacKenzie, Michael Blackwood, Gianluca Havern and Paul Mayo have already been released and youngsters Lewis Trimmer, Ryan Goward, Chris Wood, Warren Burrell and Jamie McGhee have been told there will be no new deals for them.

  • Stags release players as exodus begins

However, with some players contracted until June and some to May, it will not be a full and final list.

The rumour mill has naturally started over players Holdsworth may bring in and two names mentioned are Forest Green Rovers striker Andy Mangan and Droylesden's Jake Speight.

But all Holdworth would say was: "There are certain players at other clubs that we would be interested in talking to.

"However, we are not in a position to discuss those names as they are under contract and I wouldn't like anyone doing that to me.

"I do have 75-80 CVs on my desk right now and I have had a number of meetings with certain players who are out of contract now. We will have to see how it all unfolds. It is exciting, frustrating and worrying but also enjoyable."

Disley YES PLEASE, Larkin NO THANKS. Larkin has been injury prone all his career, we cannot afford to carry anyone like that (this is a tough tackling league)

Sorry but both are yesterday's men DH will bring in today's men to achieve play-offs. The days of old pro's finishing in non-league ie Blue Sq. are long gone. As Jason Lee proved so well.

Surprised at Blackwood also - thought he has played well when picked especially last match of season - even Mayo, he hasn't let anyone down either. I don't think we saw the best of Larkin but Disley would be a great signing - will never forget him swinging his shirt around above his head at Saltergate in front of the Spireites after he had equalised - happy times, me jumping around like a mad man celebrating and then remembering I am sat in the Chesterfield end - squeeky bum time!!!

Disley?
Disley?
For gods sake, are we THAT desperate?
Yes,he came on against the enemy & scored a decent goal, but he`d been completely hopeless for months leading up to THAT game & remember, that day he was only a Sub!
I remember having a cracking good laugh when i was in the North Stand.Disley was garbage in one of many games & needed substituting, but Deardon kept him on.A chap nearby shouted to Billy "What`s up Billy,Is Disley your love child"?
Laugh?I nearly wet myself!
So Disley back to the Mill?
No thank you!!!

Blackwood out?
I`m not at all surprised by that one.
However,i find it very frustrating, because that lad HAS got talent......He1s just too sodding lazy!!!
If someone could get him to "play" for 90 minutes,he be way too good for BSPL!
