TWO of Stags boss Billy McEwan's trialists have left the club.
McEwan revealed on Saturday that defender Mark McGregor has signed for another club, while Chad understands that striker Rob Duffy - who played at Hucknall a week ago - has been released.

Mcewan said after the 3-2 friendly defeat to Derby County: "Mark McGregor has left us which is disappointing as he had trained with us for two weeks.

"I got a phone call from him out of the blue to say he was signing elsewhere but life goes on."

The defender, who scored for the Stags at Ilkeston in midweek and also figured in the first friendly at Hucknall a week ago, has joined Altrincham, after earlier reports that he was on his way to Nuneaton.

McGregor (31), was released by Port Vale at the end of last season and has also played for Blackpool, Burnley and Wreham, amassing almost 400 League games.

adam mate i was thinkin the same the only reason i can think of is the wage but if nuneaton can offer a player higher wages than us there is a problem and we ought to get ready for BSnorth

Or it could be the fact that he lives in Nuneaton? Maybe it will workout cheaper for him to travel to Nuneaton rather than travelling to Mansfield. Who knows?

He looked a SOLID player and if the money had been good enough he would have stayed. Billy has let one slip the net. DO NOT let it happen again boss. Time is not on our side.

Well technically according to that he had signed for somebody before he played for us so god knows why he was playing for us

This is bizarre. There is no longer a team called Nuneaton Boro, and the Nuneaton Town chairman has denied even talking to him.
We are three divisions lower than you, and this would have been a huge signing for us, but he has joined Altrincham instead.
