SUPPORTERS are being urged to wear black at Saturday's last match of the season to mark Mansfield Town's relegation from the Football League - and the 'legacy of the Keith Haslam era'.
Protest group Stags Fans For Change (SFFC) made the appeal after Tuesday night's 0-0 between Chester and Stockport confirmed Mansfield's relegation - ending 77 years in the League.

More than 1,200 Stags fans will travel to Dagenham on Saturday for what is sure to be a massive anti-climax.

But the SFFC's Will Lord said: "We urge all supporters going to Dagenham to get behind the team . . . but to wear black to mark the legacy of Keith Haslam's time in charge of our club."

What they have achieved is getting Haslam to the point where he is ready to sell and actually talking to bidders - before, as with Perry and TM a few years ago, he never had any intention to sell. Now through a steady cut off of his income - and the publicity of the SFFc and other campaigns which he does hate when they hit closer to home - he is ready to sell. Before the SFFC and protesters where were we Delboy? Oh yes, that's right, bottom of the table at 2 Christmasses under first palmer and then shirtliff. The protests have made NO difference to the league position. haslam's under investment has done that damage, no-one else.

Keith Haslam has to go NOW - and NOT sell to John Batchelor. And also NOT sell to some guy called Hancocks, who put the old Aldershot club into liquidation.

There's only one thing that will save MTFC and that's for Haslam to go now totally and forever. How can that be achieved? Only 2 alternatives - Bachelor to take over or there must be a boycott of attendance at all matches by the majority of supporters until Haslam goes. Both alternatives sound awful and will be resisted by many supporters, but there is no other realistic way forward (the last years/months of rational discussion by all the reasonable groups and individuals have proved that). No amount of negotiation will prevent Haslam continuing to prevaricate and deceive whilst he continues to make money in one way or another from MTFC. The bottom line is he wont go till he's hurt. Hitting him in the face hasn't worked (and won't) so it's got to be hitting him in his pocket (or replacing him with the odious but influencable Bachelor).

Why get behind the team? they are as much to blame as anyone for this mess.No fight or passion or even pride,if we didnt turn up at daggers they might just feel as bad as most of us do.

HASLAM PLEASE SELL UP AND MOVE ON !!!!!!!!!!
