MANSFIELD Town Billy McEwan is in talks with players ahead of Monday's transfer window deadline.
But the Stags boss won't be panicking if nothing is agreed in time.
"I am speaking to two or three players about coming here and it would be nice to get players in on a permanent basis," he said.
"But a week after the window closes I know I can still bring them in on loan. I have used the loan system previously and it's worked well for me so I won't be rushing into anything.
"If we don't sign anyone by deadline it won't be the end of the world."
No decision has yet been taken on appointing an assistant to manager Billy McEwan at Mansfield Town - but the manager has confirmed Chad.co.uk's exclusive report earlier this week that Neil Richardson is being considered.
- Coach Richardson to return to Stags?
The Stags boss has been working alone since his late summer appointment and former Mansfield Town assistant boss Richardson has been linked with a return to Field Mill.
McEwan said: "I know we are short and Neil is just one of two or three I've spoken to. But no decision has been taken yet."
