MANSFIELD Town fans were onto a £1,200 winner with a fundraising race night.
It was the first major fundraising event staged by the recently formed Stags Fans United (SFU).

The £1,200 raised will go towards its target of collecting upto £250,000 to invest in the Stags, in return for a seat on the board of directors and the
chance to buy more shares.

So far the SFU has raised around £40,000 through fans membership - to join the SFU click here.

The event was held at the King's Arms, Mansfield, when £100 was also raised for the Baby Unit at King's Mill Hospital.

A spokesman for the SFU - a merger of four fans groups, the Stags Supporters Association (SSA), TEAM Mansfield (TM), Stags Fans For Change (SFFC) and Ollerton Stags Supporters Club (OSSC) - said: "The SFU would like to thank everyone who attended the event, sponsored a race or donated a raffle prize.

"We would especially like to thank the King's Arms landlord Jez for his hospitatlity on the night.

"Following last week's statement from the club's new owners, SFU would like to remind fans they can visit our website www.stagsfansunited.com for details on how purchase a share in the SupportersTrust."
