STAGS new signing Keith Briggs has been named in the starting 11 for this afternoon's match at Darlington - less than 24 hours after joining the club.
The inclusion of Briggs at right back is the only change from the side beaten at home by Morecambe on Tuesday.

  • Stags land defender

Briggs, who joined the Stags on loan on Friday afternoon, will play at right back with Dan Martin missing out.

That means a reshuffle in the back four with Gareth Jelleyman switching back to left back and Johnny Mullins and Jake Buxton at centre halves.

In freezing temperatures, a strip of the pitch remained white over with frost as the players warmed up in sunshine!

Darlington, beaten just once at home this season, included Mansfield-born Steve Foster in their defence and former Stags player Bryan Hodge in midfield.

The Stags were chasing a fifth successive away win - following victories at Brighton, Chester, Lincoln and Wycombe.

DARLINGTON: Stockdale, Austin, White, Foster, Purdie, Joachim, Ravenhill, Blundell, Wright, Valentine, Hodge. Substitutes: Miller, Wainwright, Cummins, Kazimierczak, Gall.
