STAGS star striker Micky Boulding is on the verge of a return to the side.
The 15-goal hit man limped off at MK Dons on New Year's Day with a strained hamstring but almost made his comeback in the win at Chester today.

Boulding was seen on the pitch running before kick-off and manager Billy Dearden said: "It was touch and go whether or not we had him on the bench today.

"He kept telling me he was okay but I am being a bit cautious with him.

But he will definitely be available again next Saturday."

Skipper Jake Buxton will also be back from suspension and Dearden is still hoping he can bring a couple of new faces in this week.

Great to hear about Micky B. as long as the powers that be at MTFC ('heykeith?') don't now decide that there's a few more quick bucks to be made and give him away like they did last year with Richie B. If Mr Haslam had forgone the £80k for Richie (he implied that his goals were all penalties), and kept him at the Mill, we'd probably be at least mid table now. Boulding and Barker would have complemented each other perfectly as a strike force. We won't get out of trouble unless Billy gets some serious cash now. Only Mr Dearden can be trusted to gauge how much he needs).
