STAGS boss Billy McEwan thanked Mansfield's biggest crowd of the season for their support in Saturday's pulsating 1-1 draw with Cambridge United.
"I thought the supporters today were absolutely fantastic, he said.
"Some of the noise they made in the second half made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It reminded me of when I played here when we had 14,000 in the ground.
"Thanks also to all the Cambridge fans who made the journey. They played their part and having that many away fans helps our finances here"
Stags remain unbeaten at home though the draw saw the end of the 100 per cent home record.
"I am never happy with only picking up a point at home but I thought we were magnificent in the second half," he added.
"We got after Cambridge and scored a super goal. With a bit more luck and fortune we could have won it.
"It was definitely out toughest home game so far. Cambridge are a good side, well-organised and have had some good results. It's no surprise they are up there.
"They went ahead with a great strike though I think we could have dealt with the ball into the box better and should then never have allowed him to get that shot in when we had cleared it to him.
"But we came back out the traps very quickly after half-time and it was a superb delivery on the free kick and a great header by Alan (O'Hare) for our equaliser.
"I think when the referee looks back on the game he will think he didn't have one of his better ones. Twice we broke away with good situations only for him to blow and bring the play back which is frustrating as a manager and as a team."
United boss Gary Brabin added: "I thought we were brilliant in the first half. We were in control, played some great football and we came in 1-0 up and looked comfortable."It was a great goal from Dan Brown. He did some shooting in training yesterday and was on form so it was no surprise to see that one go in - he probably won't shut up about it now though!
"After half time they've bombarded us a bit and we could have dealt with it better.
"They had a 20 minute spell and got back into the game.
"The referee and linesman didn't know whether to stick or twist with the free kick decision for their goal. But they've given it and the lad has peeled away at the back stick to score and we are disappointed with it.
"I changed formation for the last 15-20 minutes and if anyone was going to score a winner it was us.
"Credit to Lee McEvilly today. He has been ill all week and was physically sick on the pitch before half time but battled on.
"Before the game we knew a draw here would be a good point. But we did well even with four key players missing and I definitely think we are one of the top sides in this league."
